You might think that, after seven years of crossovers, just about everything that can come to Fortnite is now in Fortnite. Well, that's where you're wrong. It's almost nailed on at this point that for the first time, The Simpsons will be added to Fortnite very soon, and the latest leaks have suggested its map could be transformed into Springfield to mark the occasion.

While the Fortnite x Simpsons rumors have been circulating for months, claims that the crossover will let players explore a Fortnite-ified version of Springfield are new. The leak appears to have started with NotPalo, who claims a map based on the show's iconic setting will be added to the game, and that the nuclear power plant owned by Mr. Burns, Homer's place of work, will be one of the map's POIs.

This Is The Closest To A Simpsons Hit And Run Remake That We're Going To Get, Isn't It?

Another leaker who goes by SpushFNBR claims Fortnite's power plant will look very similar to the aerial image of the building as seen in the show. Implying that it, and hopefully the rest of Springfield, will be a faithful recreation of the power plant we know from watching The Simpsons for more than 30 years.

Exactly how big Fortnite's Springfield will be remains unclear. There's a chance that its battle royale map effectively becomes Springfield for the duration of its Simpsons season, tasking players with taking each other out while running down Evergreen Terrace, hiding out in the Kwik-E-Mart, or throwing down in Moe's Tavern.

Some have been quick to point out that even if Fortnite's Springfield is intended to be as close to the real thing as possible, there are reasons why it can't be an exact replica. One very obvious reason is that the inclusion of a school on a Fortnite map would likely result in a fair bit of controversy. Controversy that's easily avoided by simply omitting Springfield Elementary from any Fortnite plans.

While the leaks about a map are the most exciting, details about the unannounced crossover are now starting to snowball as an official announcement is almost certainly right around the corner, particularly with a rumored launch date of November 1 for the Simpsons season. Leakers have also revealed that everything from The Simpsons that finds its way into Fortnite will be cel-shaded, to make it look as much like the show as possible, and that the characters will have in-game minifigures for Lego Fortnite Odyssey.

Not the first time we've seen The Simpsons turned into Lego lately, after the family got its first Lego set in over a decade earlier this year.
